Autumn,Winter and Spring in this region of France are wonderful seasons, the landscape changes colour from a vibrant green to golds, crimsons and deep burgundy’s, it is a treat to walk or drive through the vineyards, forests and countryside at this time of year. Temperatures throughout October are usually around the mid 20 degrees and we have been known to spend a day on the nearby beaches even in late December!

There are many festivals throughout the region during autumn, winter and spring months, highlights include the Christmas markets and parades at Narbonne. Most of the tourist attractions such as the Abbaye de Fontfroide, Abbeye de Lagrasse and the Chateau at Villerouge Termenes remain open to the public for most of this period. The famous 3 star Michelin restaurant, Auberge de Vieux Puits remains open September to the end of December and is only a 15 minute drive from us, and a new restaurant in the village, La Bonbonne is proving very popular.
